Our 1st Iowa State Fair!

We went to the Iowa State Fair for the 1st time ever!

My favorite part of the whole fair was looking at the animals, especially the cows!
Here's me again, trying to kiss this pretty cow right on the nose! Didn't happen but it was sure fun to try!

What at weekend!



Friday both Mike and I got off work early so we could head to the fair! We decided to get lunch before we left! We went to, you guessed it! Waffle Stop! Mmmm we just love BBQ Bacon Burgers and hash browns! After lunch we started on our way! It was fun because we had no idea what to expect once we got there! Thanks to my oh so smart husband who doesn't follow the crowd parking in the back of the lot we got a front row spot! But whatwe didn't expect was to have to walk 1/2 mile just to get into the park! Luckily I used my good sense and stuck my thumb out for a golf cart driver (more as a joke) and he picked us up and took us to buy tickets and then drove us into the park! It was awesome! First thing we did was go see a baby cow, just after it was borne! HOW NEAT!! And, HOW GROSS!! haha thats something I never thought I would see at the fair! After that we went and toured all the different animal barns! We saw the worlds largest pig! He was huge! And the Worlds 2nd largest pig! The pig barn was so boring because all they do is sleep! No oinking at all! Well maybe a little grunting! Then we saw the sheep and the Llamas! Finally we got to the cattle barn! HOORAY! It was alot of fun I didn't want to leave, Mike and Stephenie practically had to drag me out and keep me from going back in! I just love the darn cows! After we finished with the animals we wanted to go see the Tigers of India show. By the time we finally found it it was just starting but all the seats and standing room were full and so we tried to squeeze between a few people but I didn't like all the hair pulling and kicking from the old lady behind me! Haha I didn't really get to see much but what I could see was really cool! They did tricks! haha! After all of this excitement we decided to head to the food and see what we could eat on a stick, but I'm sorry but we couldn't bring ourselves to eat $6 corn dogs! So Stephenie and I got some real A&W Rootbeer, ice cold and that held us over on out walk out of the park. We stoped a few more times to look at some things but nothing to exciting. Well we were thinking we may be able to catch a ride to out of the park and to our car like we did on the way in but no such luck then when we were almost to our car someone picked us up and drove the rest of the way...haha were lazy!
After we left the fair we headed straight for Sonic! We don't have one in Waterloo so we always go when we are in Des Moines! It was great food! We were all so starving, it really hit the spot! We were exhausted Friday but still had a great time, the more I talk to people the more I find out we missed out on a lot of really fun things! I plan to do my research! So I hope Mikey wants to go next year!
We spent the rest of out weekend being really lazy! We stayed up really late both nights and slept in really late both days! We had a lot of fun, Brandon and Jen came over along with Lisa on Saturday. It was nice to catch up with them!
Sunday was the norm, lay around watch tv and just be! My favorite!
