Going...going...going....

We have been keeping pretty busy these last 2 months and are not about to stop now! NEVER! I love having plans but I sure miss spending time with my boys at home alone but winter will be here before we know it!! Last weekend Mike and I celebrated bachelor and bachelorette parties with Courtney and Jon! It was a really great time but I missed my Mikey's! Mike is a groomsman in the wedding and I am serving the cake! Its been really fun getting to know Courtney and Jon and their 2 adorable kids, Blake (3) and Savannah (3 months) even better over that last couple years. I'm not sure what all the guys did but us girls went out to dinner, bowling, and back to the bride's apartment for fun and games! I did have a great time but didn't feel to hot and headed home. I guess I had a touch of the flu, I was sick all night ( not from too much "fun" either!) Mike ended up with it on Sunday (sorry babe!) and he and Lil Mikey ended up with colds this week. So far I have not caught that! (keeping my fingers crossed) Tuesday my dad's and I guess my cousins came to dinner at my parents for dinner. It was really fun to see Wayne, Linda, and Sharon again! Thanks for coming guys!

This weekend we have Jon and Courtney's wedding so we ship poor Mikey off to Grammy and Gampa's house for the night and I guess...party! New pictures soon!

More about Mikey!

One of my favorite games to play with Mikey is Peek-a-boo or "Peek", usually we throw a blanket over his face or hide around the corner. So last night after Mikey's bath I was getting him into his jammies when all of a sudden her took his little hands and covered his eyes and then pulled them off and said (in Mikey talk) "Peek!" Of course I had to act surprised! This went on for at least 5 minutes! He just got such a kick out of it! He laughed and laughed! I did too! Later he even showed Mike his new trick! He now knows where his tummy, nose, eyes, mouth, and feet are! Unless I want him to show grandma of course! Such a smart cookie! Gotta love him! FINALLY!!!!

We finally received our insurance check on Thursday of last week!

So my initial reaction was to run out and buy a car. But Mike stopped me with a great idea!

Mikes mom gave us her old Mercury Grand Marquis about 1 1/2 years ago because she got a new one and she knew the Mercury was going to die on her soon. Mike and I drove it on and off for about 6 months until Mike threw a rod in the engine. So it has been sitting on our garage for a year waiting for us to have the money to fix it because it is a really nice car. So we decided to take the insurance money and fix it! It's got everything I wanted leather, key less entry, HUGE trunk, big back seat, AIR :) ect. It needs a little cosmetic work also since Mike nailed a deer a while back but I think I can handle it!

The only thing is...I HATE THE COLOR! It's Tan..blech! I'll get over it...I guess :)

Now we know HOW were going to solve the problem, we just need to get it solved! We know who is going to fix it, now we just need the engine! And we need to HURRY since its looking like Dad will be cleared to drive TOMORROW and wants his car back!

Luckily, we got a "free" car from a co-worker of Mikes. He needs some serious TLC but it should be drivable if Mike can put some time into it by the weekend. Pray that it is otherwise we are going to be in trouble again!!!

So things are starting to look up for us!

We had a really great weekend! Busy busy as always!

Friday night was Readlyn citywide sales! So of course I had to do my run around town!

I got Mikey the toy he is STANDING on in pictures below. Its brand new! Gotta LOVE garage sales! We ended up at the neighbors Dusty and Jenny who were having their own sale, and of course they have 2 boys so Mikey made out like a bandit and I got some things too! We spent some time at their house and of course they fed us supper :) because they rock (and ordered too much pizza haha) After that we headed home and went to bed early because Mike had to work at 4 am on Saturday...I started a book for the first time in 1 1/2 years! And stayed up to late reading it! Mikey woke up at 6:30 of course on Saturday and we had a fun morning! During his nap, Courtney came by and I did her hair for a wedding she was going to be in that day and it turned out GREAT! I guess there is a first time for everything :). After Mike got home from work at about 12:30 he took a nap and then we all headed out to Cattle Congress.

We went and saw the Cows, horses, sheep, piggys, and even got to pet a calf and chick! Mikey LOVED every minute of it! What I think he loved best was the Tom Thumb Donuts! I have never seen him so angry when after the 4th one mommy said NO MORE! He then went on to have Carmel corn and taffy...by the time we got home he was on quite a sugar high! He also found out how much he likes walking tacos!

I think our favorite part was the animals! His little eyes were so wide when they would move! When one would look at him he would smile but he sure held on the Mommy tight!

Sunday was a great day!

Daddy got to sleep in and Mikey and Mommy played outside in the rain!

We took a family nap and woke up LATE! We were supposed to leave the house at 2, we woke up at 2! We managed to all get showered and ready and out the door in 45 minutes, a new record! We headed to Hudson to pick up our "free" car and then went out to eat with our awesome neighbors, Jenny, Dusty, Daniel, and Sammy Platte, Sarah, Justin, Sully, and Aeryn Quick, and Melissa and Nick Kirchoff! Hu Hot was very accommodating to all of us!

After dinner we went over to the parents and visited with Cousin Larry! Mikey had the best time and sure put on a show! He was just the life of the party! It was great! He fell asleep in the car ride home and went right to bed!

I can't wait for the weekend to start allover again!

It's finally Fall!

I am so glad to finally get to say these words!

Hopefully no more 90 degree sweaty days!

Now, if only those pesky mosquito's would just die already then we really could go outside and play!

What's happened since I blogged last...

Dad had triple bypass surgery on August 20th. It went really well and he has started cardiac rehab. He can not drive until his sternum is healed (SUCKY!) but its a HUGE blessing for us because we have had NO luck looking at cars...well lets just say we haven't really been looking. I just have no desire to get out there and deal with it. Strange, at first I was kind of excited but I just lost interest! And a recent turn of events has changed our budget a bit so that's a new and frustrating adventure. We also have not received the check from the insurance company!!! Yes it HAS been over a month! This is insane! Mike did find out it was issued the 10th of this month so were watching the mail! :) Once we get that we are going to have to hide it so we don't spend it on something else we just HAVE to have. So we are looking for a reliable car with low miles (80,000ish or less if possible unless it's a Honda :) we haven't' been to the bank yet but our budget is around $3,000 and maybe the bank will be nice and we can increase our budget! We are also accepting donations of any kind! hehe)

I work in a Psych office and watch all these people go through incredibly stressful things like we have recently and never was able to understand what they were feeling. We have been incredibly lucky in life but I guess everyone takes a turn! We have had a tough couple of months but I think after A LOT of prayer things are starting to turn back around for us. We are just trying to keep our heads up...but don't stop praying! :)

We are just thankful that we are healthy and happy and totally in love with each other and our 14 month old son! :)

On to better issues...

Our little Mikey is a little stinker. I take that back, he's a big stinker!

He has learned to shake his head "no" a while ago but just this week he has really learned the meaning of it. Some times it's nice like, "Mikey do you want some grapes?" and he shakes his head "no"...it's not so nice like, "Mikey, lets go bye bye" and he shakes his head "no" or when "Mikey it's bed time" and he shakes his head "no". It's so cute no matter how naughty he is being! Mikey figured out that if he drags his rocking chair over he can get things off the pool table...this was our safe place for things...so as long as he can't reach to the middle we still have some sanctuary from his dirty little fingers! He also finally got on TOP of the coffee table yesterday. He has been trying to accomplish this since he could pull himself up. So that was another moment, "Mikey, get off the coffee table" and he shakes his head "no".

Well the other day I fed the dogs and Mikey watched them eating...next thing I know he is right next to Peanut bending down and trying to put his face in the dog dish! That was a definite "NO NO" moment for me! It was sure funny though!

Well that's all for now, I'm sure I will think of a hilarious storey after I post this! :)
