As you can see our surrounding areas were severely flooded, but this is just the beginning. I am so happy I moved to Readlyn...NO flooding in town at all. We had some seepage in our basement but I think that's pretty normal for a 100 year old house!
In most surrounding towns homes were evacuated or lost. I feel really lucky that we are in Readlyn. Just about 5 miles from here there are corn fields with water do deep there are waves with white caps on them. I have never seen such a sight in Iowa. I also think a tornado touched down just outside of town. A person lost their pole building and scraps were spread through the surrounding corn fields and road. Quite a sight.
Don't pray for rain.
