Tis the Season!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Ok, So I know it's early but who knows if I will ever get on here to write again!

We have been very busy these past 2 months! The last time I posted was 10/22.

So I guess I will try and remember back to Halloween!

Mikey was a Iowa Football Player! He was ADORABLE! We took him out trick - or -treating 2 nights in a row, the first night was too cold so we only went to a few houses but Halloween was nice a warm so we went all around town. Daddy stayed home to hand out candy so Mommy got a workout! I did get some pictures but they are still on the camera since we no longer have Internet at home to upload them.

After Halloween Big Mike and I got sick with the stomach flu along with everyone in Readlyn! Thankfully Baby Mikey never did catch it, we think we got it from his daycare because EVERYONE in that family had it. We also decided to pass the gift on and gave it to my family and some of our co-workers :) Early Christmas gifts, I'm really on top of it this year.

After our bout with the flu, we all got healthy...for about 5 minutes and Baby Mikey was back at it, yep you guessed it, another ear infection. Poor kiddo! He had to see a different doctor and she said that if he continued to get the ear infections we would need to start talking about tubes...talk about scary! I know they are a good thing that would help him if he needs them but that is surgery! Mike had lots of sets of tubes as a child so we know some about it. Well they got him on a different med and so far so good, no more ear infections! But Thursday of last week he came down with another cold, cross your fingers he seems to be doing well and we haven't seen any signs of ear infection! I was getting really worried Sunday night because he wasn't sleeping well, he was waking about every 20 minutes and of course just as Mike and I were laying down for the night he was UP! Since I had the same cold myself Mike went to check on him. That didn't last long and he was asking for his mama so Mike brought him in our room and all it took was Baby Mikey to say, "maaama" and he got to spend the night with us in the big bed! He slept soundly all night! I did wake up with a nice back ache because I didn't move all night in fear of CRUSHING him! Too tell you the truth both Mike and I miss having him there now but are thankful hes a good trooper and went right back into his own bed the next night!

Ok, gotta get back on track here!

Thanksgiving

What a wonderful time we had this year! We got to have 2 Thanksgiving dinners! The first was with the Moore's! We drove up to Ames and Sarah prepared a great meal for us and some of their friends! Mikey and JJ (almost 4) had the time of their lives playing cars and balls and just being with each other! It was a very relaxing evening!

Thanksgiving day was spent at my parents (as always!) with Mom, Dad, Laura, and her friend Christy! We had a great time! Baby Mikey got to spend the night so that Mommy and Daddy could go Black Friday shopping with Mike's mom the next morning! Well Mike totally bailed on us this year so it was just the girls but we got EVERYTHING we wanted and more! It was a lot of fun!

We have also been busy playing in the snow, getting pictures taken, going to birthday parties, and we went to Dad's work Christmas party on Sunday where Mikey got to see Santa and sit in a helicopter! BAD LUCK LOFSTUENS!

Well I would like to start out by saying we have had a horrible couple of weeks!
First it started with Mikey getting a cold and ear infection. He was not showing any signs of the ear infection except for waking at night (which he NEVER does). This time it was different. He was having what I believe were night terrors. WORST THING EVER! This little boy would scream for 30 minutes and then pop out of it with a smile and wanna play! The screaming was bad but what was worse what the hitting, kicking, arching, biting ect.! Luckily it only happened a couple of nights in a row but he still continued to wake during the night and get up after that at 5am until this past Sunday/Monday. THANK GOODNESS!

Mikey had to have his 15 month well check last week and had to get 4 shots :( he did really well. He weighed 26.4 pounds so not much of a weight gain since July (good!) He has really started to thin out since he has been walking/running. Everything went well at the doctor until we were on our way out and I stepped in a pot hole while carrying Mikey and fell. I BROKE MY FOOT! Mikey was ok, a little bump on the head that went away within 30 minutes or so but not me! We were at our family doctor so luckily they could see me right away. I ended up breaking my left 5th metatarsal. OUCH OUCH OUCH! So I was off work from Wednesday of last week until Wednesday of this week. I can finally put some weight on it and can briefly walk without crutches but last week that was not the case! So it was pretty interesting for Lil Mikey, at first he was scared of Mommy on crutches, then he was mad a Mommy and refused to come to her and called everyone else (even Dada) Mama! :( It sure hurt! But after a couple of days he got over it and loved me again :) He didn't know what was going on when Daddy was doing everything! Cooking and taking care of him! Normally that is mama's job!!! (ok considering Mike was working 10 hour days and taking care of Mikey after work he did awesome but my house is a disaster and now that I am back to work by the time I get home and make dinner I am so tired I can not even give Mikey a bath!
So I started back to work on Wednesday, as soon as I went to pick Mikey up from Jodi's I find out he has a fever! AHH! The last thing we need is a sick baby because I am the only one who can stay home from work!! Luckily with some Tylenol and a bath his temp went down, pretty sure he is just teething until this morning when he woke up with no temp but GREEN boogies! So...here we go again......
